The movie was called "Good Dick."
I hated it. The main two characters were Jason Ritter and Marianna Palka.
It was an indie film that focused on the relationship of two people, just like Wristcutters and Chumscrubber.
The focus was that a video store clerk became interested in a customer that rented only soft-core porn flicks.
Upon meeting her, he discovers that she is extremely introverted, and even claustrophobic.
His characters maintains this complete happiness that tries to pull her out into the world, and he seems like he would do everything for her.
She, on the other hand, just had a character who was a complete bitch. She did nothing but make this guy feel like crap no matter how much he had tried to get along with her. Every time he attempted to pat her shoulder or anything of the sort, she began yelling at him, panicking, and at one point in the movie, yelling "RAPE!!" at the top of her lungs.
When he tried to tell her that he was staying the night (They were dating by this point, and he had stayed over many times already,) she dialed 911.
This was about the point when I turned the movie off.
Don't get me wrong, the acting was great. Definitely good acting.
But Marianna Palka portrayed a character that I would have no sympathy for.
She played the part so well that I had a particular distaste for her.
All in all, I would advise not watching it, as it drags you through a story of a guy pushing a rock up the hill just so it can fall down again and again. Watching this movie is comparable to masturbating with sandpaper: The desire is definitely there, but the process is painful, and there is absolutely no way of getting off.
